Turning Bite Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Haprurubokka opens its mouth wide, emits a squeal-like noise, turns to face the hunter, then slams its mouth shut. Nibelsnarf is capable of turning approximately 90 degrees before biting. This move may be performed twice in a row.
This inflicts relatively heavy damage if it hits, but Nibelsnarf delays for a significant amount of time after performing this attack.
As this attack has little range, Nibelsnarf generally uses it only when the hunter is in close proximity.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

Roll to the side just before Nibelsnarf bites, and the attack should miss. Rolling away is also acceptable, as this attack has little range. It is also possible to block this move, but as it hits twice it can drain large amounts of stamina, and should only be done if absolutely necessary.
As with most of Nibelsnarf s moves, this attack offers a decent amount of time where Nibelsnarf is vulnerable afterwards, which can be exploited in order to inflict some damage on Nibelsnarf.

Charging Bites Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Nibelsnarf rushes through the sand wildly, charging at the hunter with its mouth wide open. When it draws close, Nibelsnarf leaps out of the sand and bites at the hunter. It then continues "swimming" through the sand for a while, before turning around and charging again. After this, it charges for a third time, then finally comes to a halt, pausing for several moments.
This is one of Nibelsnarf s most commonly used attacks, and is used often at all ranges. It inflicts relatively high damage, but Nibelsnarf pauses for some time afterwards, before slowly sinking into the sand.

Rage Mode
Performed more often
Evasive Maneuver

It is advised to either roll or Panic Dive as each charge comes near, as simply running will not work, due to the fact that Nibelsnarf can "home in" on the hunter. This attack can be blocked, but will drain most, if not all, of the stamina bar if blocked three times.
This attack also has a unique counter-attack possible: If the hunter lays a Large Barrel Bomb, and positions themself so that the bomb is between them and Nibelsnarf, when Nibelsnarf charges, it will swallow the bomb. When the charge ends, and Nibelsnarf is turning, the bomb will explode, damaging Nibelsnarf, and causing it to become stuck in the sand. If the hunter runs over to Nibelsnarf, they will have the option to "fish" Nibelsnarf out of the sand, dealing damage and leaving Nibelsnarf flailing on the sand for several seconds. This is an excellent opportunity to deal some heavy damage on Nibelsnarf.
If the player has no Barrel Bombs in their item pouch, simply running to where the attack finishes, and attacking Nibelsnarf is also acceptable, even if less damaging.

Sand Tunnel Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Nibelsnarf rears back and appears to inhale sand, before creating a giant tunnel of sand ahead of itself. Nibelsnarf can rotate approximately 90 degrees while firing the tunnel, hitting hunters standing to the side of it.
This attack is one of Nibelsnarf's most powerful attacks, but is significantly telegraphed, so hunters should be expecting it.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

Run towards Nibelsnarf's back, as Nibelsnarf cannot move the Sand Tunnel this far. If too far away, Panic Diving as the attack is about to hit is a good idea, as the period of invulnerability means the Sand Tunnel should pass through the hunter without inflicting any damage. This attack can only be blocked if using the Guard Up skill, so hunters without this skill should not attempt to block the Sand Tunnel.
If close, and towards Nibelsnarf's back, this time can be spent attacking Nibelsnarf. The time spent attacking means that significant damage can be dealt to Nibelsnarf.

Tunneling Bite Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Nibelsnarf sinks beneath the sand, and seems to disappear for a few moments. After this, a "plume" of sand will appear beneath the hunter, then Nibelsnarf will jump out from below, severely damaging the hunter if hit. After executing this attack, Nibelsnarf pauses for a considerable length of time, before slowly sinking back into the sand.
This attack is often followed on from the Dolphin Bites attack.
This is Nibelsnarf's most powerful attack, so it is advised to be very alert in order to avoid getting hit by this.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

Panic Diving as Nibelsnarf is about to emerge is probably the safest option here, as the damage this inflicts means it is a good idea to be very sure that this attack is avoided successfully.
This attack can be blocked, but causes significant knockback, and still damages the hunter. Therefore, it is only advised to block if using skills such as Guard +1/2, as these reduce these unwanted effects.
If this attack is avoided/blocked successfully, there will be a large time-frame in which Nibelsnarf is vulnerable to attacks, so the player can use this time to inflict some heavy damage.

Sand Blast Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Nibelsnarf rises from the sand, pauses for a brief period, rears back, and then expels a large volume of sand from its gills, hitting hunters behind it. After this, Nibelsnarf generally sinks back down into the sand, before emerging a few moments later.
This attack is generally performed only when the hunter is standing beind Nibelsnarf, and can also hit hunters standing to the sides.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

When Nibelsnarf rears back, move towards its head, as this attack cannot hit hunters standing there. If too far away, run away from Nibelsnarf, towards the sides, as this attack has little sideways range.
This attack can also be blocked successfully, making this an option for those using a weapon capable of doing so.
If close to Nibelsnarf's head, this time can be used to deal some damage, as there is no danger in being near Nibelsnarf's head for the duration of this attack.

360 Degree Tail Swipe Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

This attack is performed when Nibelsnarf is freeing itself from the sand after being "tripped". Nibelsnarf will lower its head, then spin 360 degrees, hitting hunters all around it with its tail.
This attack has considerable range, so caution is advised in order to avoid being caught off-guard.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

After "tripping" Nibelsnarf and attacking it while it was stuck in the sand, move away as soon as it appears to start recovering. Rolling the instant the attack is about to hit is also a good way to gain some valuable distance from Nibelsnarf.
This attack can also be blocked successfully, making it a viable option for those using a weapon capable of doing so.
There is essentially no counter-attack possible for this move, as Nibelsnarf tends to sink into the sand after executing this attack.

Double Bites Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Nibelsnarf "swims" through the sand towards the hunter, biting at them twice as it does so. It bites in slightly different directions for each bite, first to its left, then directly in front of itself.
This move is performed often, when the hunter is standing in front of Nibelsnarf.
This attack has little recovery time, and as such is quite often chained with another attack.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

Rolling to Nibelsnarf's right is recommended, as it does not bite in this direction.
This attack can be blocked successfully, making this a viable option for those using a weapon capable of doing so.
As this attack has little recovery time, there is little potential for a counter-attack.

Leaping Bite Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

Nibelsnarf submerges itself in the sand, and seems to disappear for a few moment, before a "spout" of sand becomes visible some distance from the hunter. After a brief period, Nibelsnarf launches itself out of the sand towards the hunter, biting as it draws close. Nibelsnarf usually sinks beneath the sand after executing this attack, before emerging a few moments later.

Rage Mode
None worth mentioning
Evasive Maneuver

When the "spout" of sand appears, begin running to either side. Continue to do so as Nibelsnarf launches itself at the hunter, and roll the instant before it is about to bite.
Blocking is also possible, making this a suitable alternative for those using a weapon capable of doing so.
As Nibelsnarf generally sinks beneath the sand after performing this attack, there is little opportunity for counter-attack. However, it is possible to attack Nibelsnarf when it emerges from the sand again.

Dolphin Bites Ailment Inflicted: None
Normal Mode

While submerged in the sand, Nibelsnarf "swims" towards the hunter, leaping out of the sand and biting at the hunter as it draws close. As the name of this attack implies, Nibelsnarf immediately submerges again upon landing. This attack may be performed multiple times when in Rage Mode.

Rage Mode
Performed up to three times in a row when enraged.
Evasive Maneuver

Roll to either side, and the attack should miss the hunter, as this attack has little horizontal range. If Nibelsnarf is in Rage Mode, it is advised to remain alert to help avoid the possible follow up bites.
This attack can be blocked, but can cause significant stamina loss if it hits multiple times.
As Nibelsnarf generally submerges after executing this attack, there is little potential for counter-attack.
